The Larder Café
After a very turbulent year and a period of closure throughout January and February, March has seen the gradual returning of staff and customers and we are now ready for the spring and summer to come.
We will be remaining a takeaway service for the foreseeable future and will be making the most of the better weather by offering alfresco breakfast and lunch dining in and around the farmyard and gardens.
With a new kitchen and soon to be new dining room, our chef Andy Tomlinson will be delighting customers with a series of seasonal evening taster menus from June to September. The menus are available to see over on our News + Events page and our many social media channels. Seating is currently limited and may book up fast!
The Farm and Gardens
Winter has turned slowly to spring. The lambs have multiplied in numbers, 300 ewes nearly all lambed and out skipping about outside in the early spring sunshine. Hopefully, the warming weather and a splash of rain will bring a flush of grass this year to help keep growing the new season lambs and fill the barns back up with fodder for the next autumn and winter.
The gardens are being tidy and cleared of weeds by some resident pigs, ready for seeds to be sown from April onwards. A steady succession of seed and plants are being potted at regular intervals in the greenhouse, getting ahead start on the produce ready to be used in the Larder Café over the summer months.
We are looking forward to welcoming back customers old and new this year. We’ll keep planting and planning for future events and hopefully will see these bear their fruit as the year goes on, if not we will adapt and carry on another way.
All the Best,
From all at Manor Farm
